to promote exchanges and cooperations and ensure the ipr system work effectively, the ipr of financial information service industry forum held in beijing, august 30, 2013, which was co-hosted by the china association for public companies (capco) and internet society of china (isc). more than 20 delegations of the industry, including vice presindent and secretary-general of capco, mr. an qingsong, and deputy secretary-general of isc, mr. shi xiansheng, attended this forum in beijing.
with the growth of china's capital market, the financial information service industry, with the major products such as financial information software and financial information terminal, made a great progress in recent years. financial innovation and business model innovation enpowered this industry. a number of listed companies, such as hundsun technologies, shenzhen info-tech, great wisdom, hithink flush and east money, did a great job to promote the entrepreneurship and innovation booming in this industry. on the other hand, due to increased competition, ipr of internet financial information service industry issues caused widespread concern. the main theme of this forum is “protecting the public domain of the ipr of financial information service industry, and boosting the industry”. discussions during the forum addressed a wide range of ipr issues, grouped in the following topics: for the public domain of ipr in the industry, how to maintain its openness and avoid it to be occupied by private; against unfair competition; and promoting industry self-regulation.
mr. shi xiansheng, deputy secretary-general of isc, introduced the forefront condition of ipr of internet industry, and stressed the priciples and borders of ipr and unfair competition, as well as the importance of common understanding of public domain of ipr. he noted that the aim of protection of intellectual property rights was to promote the development of science and technology, and encourage free-market competition. it would inevitably become an obstacle either to technological innovation, or to free-market competition, if the public domain turned into private property. isc was willing to work with capco and all the leading listed-companies in the industry in a wide range, such as carry out research together, and jointly promote the development and implementation of standards in the filed.
mr. an qingsong, vice president of capco, made a concluding remarks at the end of the forum. first of all, he appreciated all membership corporations’ trust. through the discussion in the forum, participants reached consensus that only orderly competittion and development could achieve all-win. he hoped that everyone cherish the good prospects of the industry, and try to form a favorable atmosphere for innovation of technology and service, so that corporations in the industry could do their best to meet user’s needs, and satisfied the request of capital market and investor. to promote the healthy and orderly development of the industry, and maitain the common interests of the membership corporations, capco would work with isc to set up a special research group to study the issues of the public domain of ipr in the industry, and push the publishment of industry self-regulation and industry standards, in the purpose of protecting our common interests and technological innovation.
